A Channel 4 news presenter said she was ejected from a London mosque yesterday despite being 'respectfully dressed' when she tried to make an open day visit.

Cathy Newman turned up for the British Muslim Council's Visit My Mosque day, but was stunned to be ushered back into the street.

A number of mosques around the country participated in the open day event yesterday.

In the wake of the terror attacks by Islamic gunmen in Paris last month, it was held to provide an insight into the running of centres of worship and to allow people to ask questions about Islam.

Miss Newman later reported receiving a 'warm welcome' from another mosque nearby in Streatham, South London.

The journalist detailed the incident on Twitter, writing: 'Well I just visited Streatham mosque for #VisitMyMosque day and was surprised to find myself ushered out of the door.

'I was respectfully dressed, head covering and no shoes but a man ushered me back onto the street. I said I was there for #VisitMyMosque but it made no difference.'

Miss Newman was later given tea and cake at the Hyderi Islamic Centre.

Esmat Jeraj, a managing trustee at the centre, claimed the problem was caused by Miss Newman turning up at a mosque which wasn't taking part in the open day event.

She told MailOnline: 'She was always supposed to come to our centre. She had been sent to the wrong mosque.

'When she arrived they weren't expecting any guests. It wasn't because she was a woman, but because they weren't operating any open door policy that day.

They weren't expecting any visitors or holding any services either, I think.

Once she arrived at our centre we gave her a cup of tea and had a chat. We apologised for the incident and clarified that she not should base that as an example of Islam.'

A spokesman for the South London Islamic Centre apologised for the incident and vowed to review their procedures.

Visit My Mosque Day, organised by The Muslim Council of Britain, is a nationwide event, where a number of mosques across the country are opening their doors to the general public.

Participating mosques aimed to provide an insight into the day-to-day running of a busy centre of worship and answer questions about Islam.

On a Muslim Council of Britain website, it said: 'Members of the community are there to get to know one another better and some may be on hand to answer questions about Muslims and Islam where this is possible.

She tweeted that she was 'respectfully dressed' but still ushered out onto the street by a man at the mosque

'Local mosques will also be inviting inter-faith leaders as well, and all will be invited to come together to demonstrate unity and solidarity during what has been a tense time for faith communities.'

Ms Jeraj added: 'In our centre, we had both men and women actively participating.
'The event was a really positive action that allowed members of our community and people from all over to interact with British Muslims and develop stronger community ties.'

Ms Newman's comments quickly sparked debate on Twitter.

Former MP Louise Mensch said: 'Giant misogynistic fail of #VisitMyMosque, @MuslimCouncil, shutting @cathynewman out. Statement?'

A spokesman for the South London Islamic Centre told MailOnline: 'We were sorry to hear that Channel 4's Cathy Newman was allegedly 'ushered out' of our mosque and Islamic centre.

'That is certainly not our policy, and we have a track record of welcoming people to our mosque, and we are members of Interfaith.

'We do not know who did this, and we will review our procedures. Our mosque has always had both men and women worshippers.'

He added: 'The South London Islamic Centre has held in the past, and will continue to hold open days.

'As a small mosque it is voluntarily manned over the weekend. Normally we would have taken part in the Muslim Council of Britain's 'Visit My Mosque’ day but on this occasion no one was available to man the event, even though we would dearly have loved to.

'With longer notice, we hope to take part in the future. In the meantime, we would extend an open invitation to Ms Newman, and anyone else. We are a small institution, but nevertheless one that welcomes our guests.'

  • U.S. student Francesco Hounye attacked by gang of five in east London
  • The 23-year-old was left with a fractured eye socket and needed 23 stitches
  • Men also snatched bottle of Jagermeister from victim and hit him with it
  • CCTV of incident shows gang grabbing victim and kicking him repeatedly
  • Samad Uddin, 25, and Shaleem Uddin, 21, jailed today for GBH with intent
  • Shadhat, 20, and Kamrul Hussain, 23, and Masoom Rahman, 22, also jailed
  • Mr Hounye said: 'These physical scars now act as a permanent reminder'
A group of men who threw 40 kicks and punches at an American student during an 'unprovoked' attack which left him with post-traumatic stress disorder have been jailed for more than 15 years.

U.S. student Francesco Hounye, 23, had only been in Britain for three days when he was left permanently scarred after being attacked by the gang as he walked home following a night out in Shadwell, east London.

Mr Hounye suffered a fractured eye socket and was left needing 23 stitches after being kicked repeatedly in the head by the five men, who also grabbed a bottle of Jagermeister liquor from his hand and smashed it over his head.

According to police, Mr Hounye was assaulted simply because he was 'obviously not local'.

Samad Uddin, 25, Shaleem Uddin, 21, Shadhat Hussain, 20, Kamrul Hussain, 23, and Masoom Rahman, 22, were today jailed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for the attack.

The court heard how the gang landed up to 40 kicks and punches in just 30 seconds during the brutal attack on Mr Hounye on June 17, 2013.

CCTV footage showed Mr Hounye being kicked mercilessly as he lay crouched in the road.
He was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder following the incident and dropped out of college where he had been training to be a commercial pilot, the court heard.

He has since been left too terrified to go out in London and plans to return to his hometown in Florida, U.S.

In a victim impact statement, Mr Hounye said: 'Prior to this incident I was a confident, 'happy-go-lucky guy'. Never did I think that something like this would happen to me.

'As a direct result of this incident, I am now scared to go out on my own, particularly at night, and have become a much quieter and withdrawn person.

'I remain a visitor to the UK, but this incident has made me reassess my future plans.
'I was intending to remain in the UK and attend interviews as a personal trainer to fund my studies; however I could not attend job interviews when my face looked like it did.

'I felt very emotional about the whole situation at the time, and I am continuing to attend regular counselling sessions with a psycho-therapist, which began in January 2014.

'I have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and now take regular medication to help me sleep.

'As a direct result of this incident, the course in which I wanted to take my life and career has completely changed.

'I now face the rest of my life with the permanent scarring that has been left as a result of this attack as well as the emotional distress it has caused me.

These physical scars now act as a permanent reminder of what happened to me on that night.'

The gang included a man who had dreams of enrolling at medical school and a youngster who played an 'instrumental' role in preventing further disruption during the London riots, the court heard.

Sentencing the five men, Judge Alistair Hammerton, said: 'Mr Hounye has suffered post-traumatic stress disorder.

'He has been left with permanent scarring, and the attack had adverse effects on his college studies.

'He was pursued by all five defendants, and they submitted him to an attack that included kicks, knee strikes, and punches.

'The prosecution submitted there were at least 40 punches or kicks given during this short attack.'

He added: 'Shaleem Uddin was one of the principal protagonists in this attack on Mr Hounye and that is clear from the CCTV.'

Judge Hammerton also told the defendants that he was 'quite satisfied' that the victim 'did not provoke this attack in anyway.'

He added: 'This incident had a substantial impact on him, that includes psychological problems and permanent scarring.

'The aggravating features are that this was a group attack and the offence was committed at night.'

Ringleaders Shaleem Uddin and Samad Uddin, both of Whitechapel, east London, were jailed for six years and five-and-a-half years respectively for causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Samad Uddin is already currently serving a 32-month sentence for possession with intent to supply and money laundering, which he was jailed for in January. The judge told him the GBH sentence would run concurrently.

Kamrul Hussain, also of Whitechapel, was jailed for 27 months while Shahdat Hussain, of Canning Town, east London, was given 22 months.

Both were jailed for grievous bodily harm but are likely to be released in due course after serving the terms while on remand.

Masoom Rahman, who threw three punches at Mr Hounye, escaped with an 18-month sentence suspended for two years.

The 22-year-old, also of Whitechapel, was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work, pay £1,000 compensation, and an additional£800 in costs.

Describing the incident, prosecution barrister Paul Casey, previously told the court: 'At just after midnight on June 17, 2013 Mr Hounye was walking home from the Whitechapel area along North Road toward Commercial Road after a night out.

Masoom Rahman, 22, (pictured outside an earlier court hearing) escaped with an 18-month sentence suspended for two years and was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 compensation
Masoom Rahman, 22, (pictured outside an earlier court hearing) escaped with an 18-month sentence suspended for two years and was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 compensation
'They passed a group of men which Mr Hounye described them - by their behaviour and body language - as threatening and aggressive.

'They continued on their way and they were followed by a group of five males and they were surrounded by the group.

'Mr Hounye was grabbed by the shoulder. Four of the men surrounded him and Shaleem Uddin tried to wrestle the bottle out of his hand.

'He was punched in the face and Shaleem Uddin used a bottle to strike Mr Hounye over the head, causing him severe cuts to the side of his head.'

The court also heard how Mr Hounye tried to cross to the other side of the road to get away from the gang, but was followed before they set on him - punching him and kicking him to the floor.

Samad Uddin then kicked Mr Hounye in the head while he was on the ground.

Mr Casey said: 'We have been trying to explain why what happened, happened.

'There has been some speculative reporting as to what was the motivation may have been, but the reality is we don't know.

'But there has been no indication from the complainant.

'The Crown says this was an unprovoked attack and to say anything else would be speculation.'

The court heard that Shaleem Uddin was 'disgusted' by his own actions.
Adam Sersch, in mitigation, added: 'He couldn't believe he was involved in such a horrific event.'

One of the gang, Shadhat Hussain, has dreams of going to medical school, his defence counsel claimed.

Ian Stebbings, for Shahdat Hussain, said: 'He has many qualifications and he hopes to go on to apply for medical school. '

During the London Riots, Kamrul Hussain had played an 'instrumental' role in preventing further disruption in the Tower Hamlets area, his defence counsel claimed.

Daniel Robinson, in mitigation, said that Kamrul Hussain had worked with the City of London Police after getting into trouble at the youth courts as a juvenile.

During the riots, the defendant continued to work with the police Mr Robinson claimed, adding: 'He was instrumental in supporting the police to minimise disruption and to try and ensure that young people from Tower Hamlets didn't get involved.'

As well as their sentences, all defendants were told they would also have to pay a victim surcharge.

Following the sentencing, investigating officer Detective Constable Ben Mott thanked the public for their help in identifying the defendants.

He said: 'This was a savage, unprovoked and prolonged attack by five men on an innocent visitor to London.

'I hope the sentences handed down by the Judge today go some way to providing Francesco Hounye with a sense of justice and closure and continue to demonstrate that the Metropolitan Police and the CPS are committed to putting perpetrators of violence in front of the courts.

'I would like to thank the press for their assistance in this case - the wide circulation of the CCTV images was instrumental in us being able to identity, charge and now convict those responsible for this violent attack.'

A worker at a halal abattoir has been sacked and three others suspended after being filmed breaking strict rules on slaughtering sheep.

The men could face prosecution for the ‘horrifying yet routine abuse’ captured by animal rights campaigners using hidden cameras.

Slaughtermen at the Bowood Lamb abattoir in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, are seen ‘hacking and sawing’ at animals’ throats in apparent contravention of Islamic practice.

Sheep were filmed being kicked, lifted and hurled, with one worker recorded standing on a conscious sheep’s neck.
Staff are also alleged to have erupted in laughter over a sheep bleeding to death with spectacles drawn around her eyes in green paint.

Slaughtermen were allegedly filmed ‘taunting and frightening’ animals by waving knives, smacking them on the head and shouting at them.

And instead of praying as the sheep were killed, the Muslim workers chatted as a radio ‘blared out Christmas songs’ and colleagues sang along.

The footage has been released by Animal Aid campaigners and handed to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to investigate.

Secretly-placed hidden cameras were used to record practices during slaughter over a period of three days in December.

Kate Fowler, head of campaigns at Animal Aid, said: ‘The vicious attacks on defenceless, frightened animals at Bowood are inexcusable.

‘All four conveyor operators we filmed over three days abused animals to varying degrees, while the slaughterers looked on unmoved.’

She added: ‘This is the 10th slaughterhouse in which we have filmed undercover, and it is the ninth to be caught breaking animal welfare laws.

‘None of the abuses we uncovered would have come to light without our cameras being in place, even though there is a Government-appointed vet at each slaughterhouse.’

The law requires abattoirs to stun animals before slaughter to prevent unnecessary suffering, but there are exemptions for Jewish and Muslim producers.

Under the halal code, animals are supposed to be killed quickly, with a single sweep of a surgically-sharp knife.

They should not see the knife before they are slaughtered, or witness the death of other animals.

The video footage appears to show that these rules were routinely flouted at Bowood, where more than 4,000 sheep were filmed being killed.

Under UK law, slaughtered animals that have not been stunned must remain in position for at least 20 seconds after their throats are cut, to ensure loss of consciousness.

But 86 per cent of the sheep at Bowood were moved before that amount of time had elapsed, some in as little as one second, claimed Animal Aid.

It said many of the practices ‘defied expectations of what Muslims believe halal slaughter should be.’

Campaigners did not want to stir-up anti-Muslim feeling but felt withholding the awful footage would be a 'betrayal'

Slaughtermen wearing the traditional Muslim kufi skullcap and muttering the words 'Allahu Akbar' (God is great) were allegedly seen breaking rules in the way sheep were put down.

Campaigners said they recognised the risks of stirring up anti-Muslim feeling but ‘witholding release of the footage would be a betrayal of our key mission to expose and combat animal cruelty'.

The FSA, which regulates abattoirs, confirmed four slaughtermen have had their licences suspended and an investigation launched.

A spokesman said: ‘The Food Standards Agency takes animal welfare at abattoirs very seriously which is why we immediately suspended the licences of the slaughtermen involved.

‘There is no excuse for treating animals in the way shown on the video and we are therefore investigating the footage with a view to prosecution.

We are also continuing to investigate all the circumstances around the incident to ensure proper safeguards are introduced to stop this happening in the future.’

The halal market could be worth as much as £2billion a year, with more than 100 million animals killed using the method annually.

ROTHERHAM COUNCIL CLOSED DOWN FOLLOWING SEXUAL ABUSE FAILURE

Rotherham Council is to be effectively closed down until an election can be held in 2016, all powers currently held by the Cabinet will be transferred to Commissioners responsible the Secretary of State for Local Government.

Eric Pickles made the announcement at the House of Commons today, after Rotherham was shown to have failed to protect children from being sexually abused.
The Council has fourteen days to write to Pickles should they wish to object to the plan to bring in the five commissioners. He said he was taking the steps because the council was “seriously failing the people of Rotherham, and particularly the most vulnerable”.
Pickles said that he was minded to appoint the commissioners to replace the “wholly dysfunctional cabinet”. This means that all executive power currently held by democratically elected councillors would pass to the appointed officials if he presses ahead, which is all but guaranteed.
In forcing the council to accept a full ‘all out’ election of councillors in 2016 he claimed he would restore “pride” and “local accountability” to the borough. This is likely to make UKIP a serious contender to win the council, but in any case it is now unlikely democracy will be restored until that election is successfully completed.
Pickles claimed the current council leadership was opposed to democracy as it regularly cracked down on whistleblowers. He said senior managers had created an “unhealthy climate where people are afraid to speak out because they have seen the consequences for those who do.” Pickles said his plan would “put an end to the councils on going failure” and to “restore good local governance to Rotherham”.
Hilary Benn for Labour said it was time for Rotherham to “accept the truth” that they had failed to protect children. He said the “process of healing” could not take place until that happened. During the debate the Rotherham Cabinet announced they would all resign.
Rotherham Council was exposed as having failed to protect as many as 2000 victims from Muslim grooming gangs. They stand accused of refusing to stop the abuse of young white girls by Muslim men for fear of being accused of racism.

A radical Muslim student who wanted the black flag of ISIS to fly over Downing Street has been jailed.

David Souaan, 20, was found guilty of planning to join rebel forces in war-torn Syria following a trial at the Old Bailey in December.

He had visited Syria in December 2013 and was on his way back to fight the jihadist cause when he was arrested at Heathrow Airport on May 31 last year, the court heard.

The Birkbeck College student, who comes from a wealthy family in Serbia, denied the charge and insisted his earlier visit to Syria was to collect his grandfather's belongings.

But after nine hours of deliberation, the jury convicted him of preparing for terrorist acts in Syria and he was jailed for three-and-a-half years by judge Peter Rook today.

He will serve 13 months before being released on licence because he has been on remand for eight months.

Sentencing Souaan to be detained in a young offenders institution, Judge Rook told him that his case was at the lower end of the scale but nevertheless serious.

The judge told the student that due to his age and immaturity he had been 'vulnerable to extremist views' to which he was exposed after he left home for London.

And he added that his praise for Islamic State came at a time before the organisation's true character was known.

'The jury rejected your evidence that you wished to go to Syria to assist with humanitarian aid,' he said.

'The prosecution is unable to say which terrorist group you were to fight for save it was against President Assad.

'It follows that fighting against the forces of Assad comes under the definition of terrorism, as does fighting for ISIS or ISIL.

'However in this case there is not the aggravating feature you were planning to fight against British or coalition forces.

'You were lonely, depressed, bored and isolated. You were highly susceptible to the malign influence of others.'

The judge praised the actions of his mother Anica in trying to stop Souaan from going to Syria.
He added: 'But for her intervention the sentence I have passed would have been longer.'

Souaan, who faces being deported to Serbia as part of the foreign prisoner release scheme, blew kisses to his family sitting in the public gallery as he was led down to the cells.

His trial had heard how the student, the son of a Serbian Christian mother and Syrian Muslim father, grew up in his mother's country but had close family ties to Syria and had adopted his father's religion.

He came to the UK in 2013 on a three-year visa to study global politics and international relations at Birkbeck College in London, living in halls of residence in Malet Street.

He was arrested after fellow students became concerned at his radical views on Islam and he showed off pictures of himself posing with guns.

Classmates had described him as a 'nice, quiet, softly spoken young man' when he started studying global politics and international relations.

But he became more vocal in his religious beliefs after a trip to Syria in December 2013.
On January 3 last year he sent a Whatsapp message to a friend saying: 'Hello from Syria', which contained an image of Souaan sitting on part of a destroyed building.

He also posed for pictures with members of the local Free Syrian Army forces which had control of the area around his grandfather's house in Deir az-Zor.

A university friend said Souaan, who he had lived with in student halls, had talked about his friends dying in battle.

Judge Peter Rook
'He pulled out his phone and started showing me pictures', said the witness.

'He made the reference to these dead people being people he knew. They died in battle.'

Souaan also boasted of taking one picture of the bodies himself, and had posed with weapons for other snaps.

'He said they were his friends and he said he was there when it happened', the witness added.
'He was involved in the activities, and he was quite pleased with his actions.

'He said he was part of the ongoing struggle that's out there in Syria in terms of liberation.

'He said that the people have been oppressed for a long time, they need to be liberated, and what's happening is wrong.

'He said there should be something for the people within the confines of Sharia Law and what the Koran teaches, not what the western world and anyone else thought.

'It should be a proper Islamic State.'

By May 2014 Souaan was leafletting around London to try to persuade others to convert and even suggested that his brother come with him to Syria.

He called people 'kaffir', meaning infidel or unbeliever, and became serious when anyone mentioned girls or alcohol.

On 31 May last year he and his mother Anica were stopped by police as they were about to board a flight to Serbia.

When police seized his laptop and phone they found pictures, videos and documents revealing his 'extremist sympathies' and that he had not only been fighting with rebels in Syria before, but was intending to return, the Old Bailey heard.

A document found on Souaan's laptop, written in Serbian, was titled 'apology, Leader of Al Kaida' and referred to the Islamic State.

It said: 'The State is not subservient to Al Kaida, not it ever was, it's more likely that if you enter Al Kaida Islamic state's territory it is your duty to give oath to the State.'

Prosecutor Sarah Whitehouse QC said one video clip found on Souaan's phone was 'so graphic and so shocking' that it could not be played in court.

It featured a young-looking man kneeling with his head held back as another man cut his throat.
Mrs Whitehouse said: 'The victim was pushed face down in the mud where his last breaths can be heard. It cannot be said that Mr Souaan was present when that took place, it may have been downloaded from elsewhere.'

Another clip, created on 20 December 2013, showed Souaan and four others walking through a derelict urban site carrying automatic weapons.

The court heard that Souaan filmed himself attending a demonstration in the UK involving hate cleric Anjem Choudary.

Souaan said he had been lobely in London, and had kept in contact by text with his Christian Serbian girlfriend, Ana Lazovic (pictured, who had gone to Miami in the US to study

Mrs Whitehouse said that a man - probably Souaan - could be heard in the background saying: 'The flag of Tawheed in London, all praise be to Allah the lord of the universe.

She told the court: 'This is a reference to the fervent wish of Muslim extremists to see the tawheed - the black flag of Islam - one day flying in Downing Street.'

In his defence, Souaan told jurors he had accompanied his father to his home town of Deir ez-Zor in Syria for two nights in December 2013.

He said he went to help retrieve his 82-year-old grandfather's belongings after the older man had been forced to flee to Turkey with just the clothes on his back when his house was destroyed.

The defendant thought it was 'pretty much safe' for them to travel unarmed and alone six or seven hours by road from the border to the town in Eastern Syria, the jury heard.

He claims that he dressed in combat trousers and a black and white head scarf because his father told him they needed to 'blend in'.

Souaan said none of the weapons belonged to him and claims he wanted the pictures as 'trophies'.

'It was my first time seeing a gun, a real, proper gun, and for me it was something new so then I just asked can I have a look,' he added.

He posed for pictures with guns because he wanted to look 'cool', he said: 'At the time when I was there I felt something like I wanted some trophy - the photos.

'As the teenagers say nowadays, it looks "cool". So that was the reason.'

Souaan, whose father made a fortune in the construction business in Serbia, insisted that, while he was in the town held by the Free Syrian Army, he never had a weapon.

He said he had been 'lonely' in London after arriving for his first term of university on October 6 last year.

He kept in contact by text with his Christian Serbian girlfriend, Ana Lazovic, who had gone to Miami in the US to study.

She called him by his pet name 'little panda' and he told her he loved his 'little sweetie''more than anything in the world'.

  • The men shouted threats as they drove past the teens leaving the centre
  • Pair said to have told the girls who weren't in uniform- they'd be beheaded
  • Police in Gateshead have now upped patrols and warned other Army Reserves
Police have mounted uniformed patrols around an Army Reserve after two girl cadets were threatened with beheading as they left the centre.

Two men had shouted the violent threats as they drove past the teenage cadets, who weren't in uniform at the time.

The pair, driving in a Vauxhall Zafira, were said to have asked the girls if they were in the army before threatening them with beheading.

It comes weeks after British police forces warned officers not to wear uniforms on the way to work after an ISIS-style plot to kidnap and behead an officer.

More than 7,000 officers in the West Midlands were warned they were in imminent danger following an anonymous telephone call to their headquarters on December 8.

Other forces urgently reviewed safety precautions and warned officers not to wear their uniform or ID badge when off duty.

The threat to officers was already heightened amid fears extremists will attempt to copy the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby (pictured)

The official threat level to officers came amid fears extremists will attempt to copy the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby, which has led to soldiers being warned not to wear their uniform off duty.

ISIS has previously called on followers to launch ‘lone wolf’ attacks on the West.

Extra patrols have now been put in place around the Army Reserve centre in Gateshead, Northumbria, formerly the Territorial Army, after the violent threats against the girl cadets.

Other Army Reserve centres have also been alerted since the incident at 9.15pm on Wednesday January 21.

Gateshead Superintendent Richie Jackson said: 'The men made no attempt to make any physical contact with the girls or get out of the car, and shouted the comments while driving away from the scene.

'Inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact nature of what was said during the incident and we have spoken to the two teenage girls, viewed CCTV footage from the area and have identified the vehicle and inquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.

'As a precaution we have notified staff at other Army Reserve centres in the area and have had extra officers on patrol in Alexandra Road to reassure residents.

'Although this is concerning, it is an isolated incident and if anyone has any information that could help us with the investigation I'd ask that they contact us on 101.'

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: 'We are aware of an incident allegedly involving members of the Army Cadet Force - this is a matter for the police and we cannot comment further.

Any witnesses are urged to contact the police.

'We understand the girls were not in uniform at the time of the incident and that the suspects asked them 'Are you in the Army?' before issuing the threats.'

'Disease' of Islamic extremism will hang over my generation, says Cameron as he describes watching hostage videos

  • The threat posed by the 'disease' of Islamic extremism will last for a generation, David Cameron warned today as he rejected claims Britain was not doing enough to take on ISIS.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the Prime Minister insisted the government was doing all it could to 'defeat the monstrosity' of ISIS.

But he warned it would require 'long-term determination and perseverance' in a fight which might not end in his lifetime.

In a wide-ranging interview, answering questions submitted by MailOnline readers, Mr Cameron defended spending billions on foreign aid and breaking his promise to cut immigration.

The PM insisted the benefit cap was getting people back to work and suggested that we no longer live in what he once called 'broken Britain'.

The Tory leader claimed he was not scared of Nigel Farage, while pointedly refusing to rule out a coalition with Ukip.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the Prime Minister insisted the government was doing all it could to ’defeat the monstrosity of Isil’And he revealed his last experience of using the NHS was when his son stood on a wasps nest, admitted to being a fan of Gogglebox and like every parent of young children spoke wearily of listening to the songs of Disney film Frozen over and over again.

The disease is the Islamist extremism and that's what we have to fight, that's the narrative that we have to beat
Prime Minister David Cameron
Many of the questions submitted by MailOnline readers demanded a tougher response from Britain to the threat posed by ISIS, not least since the horrific video posted online of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh.

A damning report from the defence select committee today blasted the UK’s 'tiny' contribution to the fight against ISIS, also known as Isil, Daesh and Islamic State.

It found the UK has carried out just 6 per cent of air strikes against jihadists, the equivalent of just one per day.

But Mr Cameron told MailOnline: 'We are doing everything that we can to defeat the monstrosity of Isil.

'Look, we are taking action, we are the second nation in terms of bombing runs that have been carried out in Iraq.

'That is making a difference on the ground and we are seeing the growth of Iraqi security forces and Kurdish forces sweeping Isil out of parts of Iraq and we need a long term plan for both Iraq and Syria so we defeat Isil.'

'We have got to stop people travelling to Syria, we have got to prosecute those who have been and been radicalised and would do us harm.

These videos are absolutely horrific and depraved... I take the time to see what they are doing so I understand what families have been going through
'You have seen actually a big growth in the number of people in Britain who have been prosecuted and convicted for Islamist extremist violence. And we need to keep up our guard.'

Mr Cameron has read detailed reports of the latest video, in which al-Kassasbeh was set alight, but he has not actually watched it in full.

He did, however, view the footage of British hostages being beheaded last year.

'These videos are absolutely horrific and depraved,' the Prime Minister said.

'And obviously I take the time to see what they are doing so I understand what families have been going through.'

Asked if Britain would be free of the jihadist threat in his lifetime, he admitted it was a battle which would last many years.

'I think the threat of Islamist extremism is a threat that we are going to face throughout this generation. It is going to be years rather than months.'

While ISIS could be defeated eventually in Iraq and Syria, the 'disease' of Islamic extremism is spreading around the world and is harder to contain, he warned.

'What we have seen with Islamist extremism whether it is in Mali or Somalia or Afghanistan is that the disease is not necessarily the individual country.

'The disease is the Islamist extremism and that's what we have to fight, that's the narrative that we have to beat.

'We can overcome it because the overwhelming majority of Muslims want nothing to do with this.........lol. http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

'They think it is a perversion of their religion. And we need them to help us to fight it and snuff it out.

'It can be done, we have seen movements like this eradicated in our history. We just need to show the long term determination and perseverance to do it in is case do.'

However, according to today's defence select committee report there were only three UK military personnel outside the Kurdish regions of Iraq, compared with 400 Australians, 280 Italians and 300 Spanish, when the MPs visited Iraq before Christmas.

The committee said it is ‘very surprising that the UK Government is doing so little’, given the rise of Islamic State has proven the ‘sum of all our fears’.

‘Given that Daesh is the most dramatic and significant threat to regional stability and international security to have emerged in the Middle East in decades, we are surprised and deeply concerned that the UK is not doing more,’ it added.

British Army to recruit more Muslims in a bid to tackle Islamic extremists

The move is part of a broader campaigner to recruit more personnel from among women and ethnic minorities.
Currently more British Muslims are thought to have joined Islamic State as jihadis - about 600 - than serve in the Army - about 480.
But the Army hopes its recruitment drive will let it better represent the ethnic make-up of the country and fight a sense of exclusion in some parts of Britain’s ethnic communities.
The head of the Army, the chief of the general staff, General Sir Nicholas Carter, said: “My highest priority is ensuring we continue to have the best possible talent throughout our Army. This requires us to draw talent from all of the society we represent.
Diversity is one of our nation’s greatest strengths and it is only right that our Armed Forces benefit from that capital
Imam Asim Hafiz
“Our recruitment from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities has been improving over the years, but it is nowhere near where it needs to be. We have to do more.
“The Army has always played an important role in making the connection to all elements of society and there are plenty of examples of initiatives that have built enduring relationships with minority communities.
“The Values and Standards we espouse resonate closely with these communities and there is much common ground that we can build on to broaden our recruitment base.”
And the Islamic religious adviser to the head of the Armed Forces, Imam Asim Hafiz, said joining the British Armed Forces is “fully compatible with the values of Islam”.
He said: “Diversity is one of our nation’s greatest strengths and it is only right that our Armed Forces benefit from that capital. This not only brings them closer to the people that they serve, but also enhances the military’s cultural understanding when deployed.
“In my view, the values of the Armed Forces are fully compatible with the values of Islam as well as other faiths. Anybody wishing to pursue a career in the Services, Regular or Reserve and is prepared to work hard can be assured of a very rewarding experience.”
Women only account for 8.9 percent of the army
GETTY
RAF soldiers in uniform. Women only account for 8.9 percent of the army
The move was welcomed by military veterans - but they warned that vetting will need to be rigorous.
In 2013 British soldier Lee Rigby was murdered on the streets of south London by two Islamic extremists.
In 2007 a plot by British Pakistanis in Birmingham to kidnap and behead a British Muslim soldier was foiled by the authorities.
And Intelligence chiefs have publicly warned of the dangers posed by battle-hardened, radicalised jihadis returning home from Iraq and Syria.
Colonel Richard Kemp, who commanded British forces in Afghanistan, said: “I would welcome more Muslims joining the Armed Forces and any branch of public service. It is important the Army reflects the make-up of society.
“The vast majority of Muslim are not involved in extremism but because a minority are there would have to be very careful security vetting to ensure we do not recruit people who could turn against us.”
Currently there are 480 Muslims in the Army - or 0.54 per cent of the 88,500 force.
Yet the 2011 census recorded nearly 2.8 million Muslims in the UK or 4.4 per cent of the population.
There are about 9,100 soldiers drawn from the Black Asian and Minority Ethnic population or BAME which accounts for just over 10 per cent of the force - though this figure includes troops from Commonwealth nations such as Fiji.

Hundreds More Muslim Rape Gang Cases Discovered in UK

jkThe Muslim rape gang scandal in Britain just keeps getting worse. Last August, the BBC reported that “at least 1,400 children were subjected to appalling sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, a report has found.
Children as young as 11 were raped by multiple perpetrators, abducted, trafficked to other cities in England, beaten and intimidated, it said.” Five months later, not only has little been done to combat this scourge, but it has grown exponentially worse: hundreds of new cases have been discovered, and one of the victims says that those who abused her are “untouchable.”
Sky News reported that in addition to the 1,400 cases revealed last year, “hundreds more cases were known to authorities prior to its publication and that hundreds more are being reported.” The victim who spoke to Sky News said that now all these months after the news first broke of the extent of this savage exploitation, “It’s still going on if not worse, because now they’re having to hide it more. I’m still seeing my abusers driving young girls in their car. They’re untouchable.” She said of the police that “all they care about is getting a statement. Six months on we’ve had no arrests, we’ve had no charges, evidence is still being lost.”
Why is this happening? What illness has overtaken British authorities, such that they are covering up these cases and doing little or nothing to apprehend offenders? The answer lies in the fact that these are not simply criminal cases involving outlaw gangs. The rape gangs are made up of Muslims who believe that the Qur’an (4:3; 4:24; 23:1-6; 33:50) and Islamic law allow them to capture non-Muslim girls and press them into sexual slavery, as we have also seen the jihadists of Boko Haram and the Islamic State also do in the past year. And British authorities have feared to confront the problem in its full magnitude because they’re afraid of the stigma of stigmas in the twenty-first century West: being called “racist.”These words were reported a month after a team of government commissioners took over the Rotherham Council, after finding it in “complete denial” about the scandal.
In Rotherham, British officials “described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so.” The very idea that “racism” was a factor here reflects the myopia of the British government and media elites, who consistently frame issues regarding jihad terror and Islamic supremacism as racial. In fact, however, the rape gangs operated not because they were made up of men of Pakistani origin, but because they were made up of Muslims who believed that infidel girls were nothing more than, in the immortal words of the Grand Mufti of Australia a few years ago, “uncovered meat.”
In any case, the fear of being stigmatized with the “racist” charge is unmistakably what hindered the proper prosecution of the rape gangs, and hinders it still. The perpetrators are untouchable because the British authorities have yet to tackle, and may never tackle, what really makes them untouchable: the prevailing culture — not just in Britain, but in the U.S. also, and all over the West — that consigns all concerns about the activity of Muslims, whether it be jihad terror or Sharia- and Qur’an-inspired sex trafficking, as here, to “racism” and “Islamophobia.” The officials who swept these cases under the rug were terrified of being called “bigots” by the likes of Nick Lowles of the Leftist organization Hope Not Hate, which acts determinedly to smear and marginalize anyone who dares raise a voice against large-scale Muslim criminality and the Islamization of Britain; and Fiyaz Mughal of TellMamaUK, an organization dedicated to combating “Islamophobia” in Britain – by which it means even the smallest, weakest opposition to jihad terror and Islamic supremacism.
People like Lowles and Mughal have real power in David Cameron’s shattered, staggering, terrified, dhimmi Britain. The members of the Rotherham Council may quite reasonably have thought that if they revealed the full magnitude of Muslim rape gang activity, and prosecuted the offenders energetically, they would be accused of exaggerating the problem, or even of fabricating it altogether, out of a deep-seated “racism” and “Islamophobia.” They could consequently have lost their jobs and never gotten another one. So they kept quiet. And the victim tally grew ever higher.
As Britain races to ruin, these officials can console themselves that even as thousands of girls’ lives were ruined on their watch, and the world was treated to the spectacle of a free nation submitting meekly to barbaric activity on a shocking scale, at least they were never, ever “racist.”

WHEN WILL THE ‘NEVER ENDING CYCLE’ OF MUSLIM GROOMING GANGS COMMITTING RAPE JIHAD EVER STOP.
MUSLIM RAPE JIHAD
Following on from the previous post about the large Muslim grooming gang busted in Yorkshire. Here is yet another, different town same scenario. Police in Newcastle have arrested and charged a further 20 vile Muslim paedophiles as part of their operation sanctuary investigation.
Unfortunately as i predicted over 2 years ago when i first began compiling the Muslim grooming / paedo map. Those cases that were known then were only a fraction of Muslim grooming gangs active and only the beginning of those being arrested and prosecuted. Since then up and down the country gangs of Muslim paedophiles have been busted, many confined to little more than a few paragraphs in the local press.
I fear that there are still going to be many more continue to come to light in the near future. The question isn’t ‘if’more like ‘when’ and ‘where’ the next Muslim grooming gang to be busted. There is no end in sight any time soon. While Muslim males continue to hold the same view of British girls. That they are ‘white slags’ who deserve all they get and are happy to use them like a piece of halal meat.
The only possible way to put a stop to the rape jihad is for the Muslim community to start getting their own house in order. I don’t for one minute think that every Muslim male has an unhealthy interest in under age children. But i am certain that many of their community know exactly what is going on and who is responsible. Turning a blind eye and pretending they have no idea while the victims are white British girls and not of their own Muslim community.

Northumbria Police have charged 20 people with sexual offences as part of Operation Sanctuary

 5 February 2015
Northumbria Police Deputy Chief Constable Steve Ashman says it’s the largest number of charges that they have placed before a court
Twenty more people have been charged with sexual offences as part of police’s Operation Sanctuary probe.
The charges follow the 13-month investigation into allegations of offences committed against vulnerable women and girls across the North East.
So far, 31 people have been charged as part of the operation and the latest charges relate to 12 victims, aged between 13 and 25.
Many of them appeared in Bedlington Magistrates’ Court during the course of today, and were either bailed on remanded in custody until Newcastle Crown Court appearances on February 16 and 17.
Deputy Chief Constable Steve Ashman, who is leading the investigation, said today marked a significant milestone in the operation.
He said: “So far, it’s the largest single number of charges that we have placed before a court. It’s a result of 13 months of meticulous investigation by a dedicated team of officers and social workers.”
Deputy Chief Constable Ashman said the investigation was launched when two girls made a number of allegations in a police station.
He added: “Today marks a milestone in this operation. Since the first allegations were made over a year ago we have painstakingly left no stone unturned in our efforts to investigate all allegations.
“We have worked closely with a range of other agencies including the local authority and CPS to reach this point. We are limited in what we can say as we must now protect the integrity of the criminal proceedings and must avoid any statements that could breach legal restrictions and put prosecutions at risk.
“To date, this part of the investigation has involved speaking to over 100 potential complainants, a dozen of whom have been identified as victims in relation to today’s charges.
“This has been done carefully with support from other professionals and I must commend them all for their bravery in working with us.
“The welfare of victims is our priority and we have worked closely with other agencies to ensure they have the appropriate support in place.
“Operation Sanctuary will not end. It is a wide ranging investigation into many different crimes of a sexual nature against vulnerable women and girls. Today’s charges are just one element of this.
“I would encourage anyone who wants to report such crimes to police to do so. They will be believed and they will be supported.
“We have had tremendous support from the public and businesses and we need this to continue. I would urge people to be vigilant and if something doesn’t look or feel right I would ask them to contact us.
“Some people or groups may try to use Operation Sanctuary to build resentment. Our community has a history of harmonious relations and is one of tolerance. Anyone experiencing hate crime should report it to police and be reassured we will investigate thoroughly.
“By working together, we can continue to ensure out towns and cities are safe places to live, work and visit.”

British Jihadi Held Severed Head In Video

Imran Khawaja court case
Those inside the courtroom were warned about the extremely graphic nature of the video they were about to see, which was shot in Syria in April last year.
In the footage, Imran Khawaja, from west London, is seen delving into a bag of severed heads and lifting one out.
The 27-year-old can be heard saying: "Heads, kuffars (non-believers). Disgusting."
Khawaja pleaded guilty last month to preparing acts of terrorism, attending a terrorist training camp in Syria and receiving weapons training and is now facing a lengthy prison term.
Khawaja and his two co-defendants are expected to be sentenced later today.
Imran Khawaja court case
On Thursday, the first day of a two-day sentencing hearing, Woolwich Crown Court was told how the defendant had faked his own death in Syria in order to sneak back into Britain last summer.
However, the authorities arrested him at Dover in June last year - six months after he travelled to the Middle East - as he tried to re-enter the UK in a vehicle driven by his cousin, Tahir Bhatti.
Bhatti, a taxi driver, is in the dock alongside Khawaja, and faces sentencing for assisting an offender.
A third defendant, Asim Ali, will be sentenced for terrorism funding, after he admitting giving £300 to Khawaja.
Prosecutor Brian Altman said Khawaja had been a frontman for the extremist organisation Rayat Al Tawheed, which has close ties to Islamic State.
In dozens of images, he was seen posing with weapons and encouraging other young British Muslims to travel to Syria for jihad.
The court also heard about the determined efforts of Khawaja's family back in London to persuade him to return home.
In one message, his sister Azmeena accused him of breaking his parents' hearts and begged him to head back.
She wrote: "Book your ticket and return home, or I'll come and get you."

British Muslim who faked his own death to return to UK from jihad in Syria is jailed for 12 years

Imran-KhawajaAnd when he is released in twelve years, assuming he stays in jail even that long, what then? British authorities will take the greatest care to ensure that he has everything he needs in prison to continue his practice of Islam, despite the fact that he participated in these “horrific and deeply disturbing” videos because of his having imbibed Islamic principles regarding the duty to wage war against unbelievers and to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60). So he will likely come out of prison an even more determined jihadi than he is now. But by then he may be appointed a cabinet minister, anyway.
“British jihadi who faked his own death to return to UK is jailed for 12 years,” by Caroline Davies, theGuardian, February 6, 2015
A British jihadi, who appeared in “horrific and deeply disturbing” propaganda videos and faked his own death so he could return to the UK from a Syrian training camp, has been jailed for 12 years.
Imran Khawaja, 27, nicknamed “Barbie”, posed with severed heads, dead fighters and child soldiers during a six-month stint with Rayat al-Tawheed (RAT) insurgents in Syria last year.
But he told friends he had “had enough” of the conditions, and had complained about the lack of toiletries, cocoa butter, and condoms for the “war booty”.
The former immigration centre worker, from Southall, west London, was stopped by port officials at Dover trying to gain re-entry to the UK after telling friends he needed to raise further funds to support the RAT cause.
The bodybuilder pleaded guilty to preparation of acts of terror, for which he was sentenced to a 17-year extended term, comprising a 12-year custodial term before being released on licence. He will serve a minimum of eight years. He was also given seven-year terms for attending a terrorist training camp and for weapons training, and an 11-year term for possession of an article for terrorist purposes, which will all run concurrently.
Sentencing him at Woolwich crown court, judge Jeremy Baker described him as a “willing and enthusiastic” participant in the videos posted online for Islamic State’s propagandist arm.
Dismissing Khawaja’s claims that he had come home to see his family and that he had regretted his actions, the judge said he presented a risk to the public. “It is clear in the last few years you have been showing an increasing interest in Islamic jihadist material. You took part in the production of films designed to promote the Islamic State cause and encouraging UK Muslims to join you in jihad. Your interest was sufficiently profound for you to travel to Syria to train for jihad. I’m also satisfied, by the time you decided to return to the UK, you had completed your terrorist training,” he said.Khawaja showed no emotion as he was led from the dock. His counsel, Henry Blaxland QC, said Khawaja had a very low IQ and had been “indoctrinated” in the months before he travelled to Syria in January 2014.
Khawaja had resisted his family’s pleas for him to return to the UK. In messages to friends and relatives, he repeatedly lied about when he was coming home before confiding he was there to die a martyr, the court heard.
In one text exchange with his sister Azmeena, he told her to tell his family that he was doing charity work – “driving an ambulance der [Syria] or sumtin” (sic).
In reality, he was whipping up domestic support for his cause by appearing in harrowing footage and speaking publicly about his desire for actions. In one section of footage played to the court, prosecutor Brian Altman said, Khawaja could be seen picking up severed heads from the back of a flatbed truck and saying: “Heads. Kuffar (non-Muslims). Disgusting”….
Deborah Walsh, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Imran Khawaja’s actions are one of the most appalling examples of violent extremism that I have seen committed by British jihadis returning from Syria.
“Photos and videos of Khawaja posing with child soldiers and severed heads defy the understanding of civilised people and paint a picture of a man who would stop at nothing to spread terror and hatred.”

A teenager is accused of stabbing her Muslim boyfriend to death after the pair argued about her wearing Westernised tight clothing and short dresses and skirts.

Sarah Willis, who works at a law firm, is accused of stabbing Bilal Saddique in the leg at the home they shared in Blackburn in Lancashire.

The knife almost entirely severed an artery in the 29-year-old's thigh and he died an hour later.

Willis, 19, claimed Mr Saddique was a controlling man and had taunted her with claims that he had slept with someone else during their stormy three-year relationship.

Mr Saddique, a strict Muslim, had kept their relationship and had referred to his girlfriend as a 'bitch' and a 'slag', Preston Crown Court.

On the night of his death during a vicious argument between the pair Willis said Mr Saddique pulled her by her hair and taunted her by saying he had been having sex with someone else.

When she started collecting her possessions, including knives, to leave their shared home he goaded her and dared her to stab him, saying 'come on hit me, come on f****** stab me, if you hate me'.

As a vicious row ensued Willis said the BT engineer grabbed her hand, which was holding a knife, and stabbed himself in the thigh.

He died at Royal Blackburn Hospital an hour later from his injuries.

Willis, who converted to Islam when she was at school, regularly talked about her boyfriend according to colleagues. She sometimes told them he had bought her expensive handbags and makeup but at other times would complain about him being too controlling.

Asma Day, a colleague, described Willis as having a split personality - sometimes being loud and disruptive and other times withdrawn.

She said: 'He wanted her to cover up because other men looked at her.

She wore Western clothing but always covered her arms and legs. She said she had never been introduced to Bilal's mother and she was conservative and wouldn't accept her.

She said they loved each other and were going to get married. He didn't like her wearing tight clothing and short clothes.'

On one occasion when Mr Saddique was away in Pakistan Willis was seen wearing 'bright lips' and more revealing and glamorous clothes and had appeared happy and 'less disruptive.'

The court heard Mr Saddique had been in contact with a former girlfriend who said he was not aggressive in their relationship. Mr Saddique had told the woman his relationship with Willis was 'beset by arguments' but that he had intended to marry her despite not having introduced her to his family.

He would refer to Willis as 'slag' and 'bitch' and from time to time would block contact with her on his phone.
He also became suspicious of her platonic friendship with a male work colleague after they were photographed together at the office Christmas party in 2013 and he found text messages and read her Facebook account.

On August 18 Mr Saddique went to pick up Willis from work only to see the man drive away at the same time and a vicious argument ensued.

Willis said when they got home she started to gather up her belongings - including a shower panel she had bought.

But her actions further angered Mr Saddique and he started dragging her by her hair and tried to carry her down the stairs. Willis went on her own accord and started to take some of her possessions from the kitchen - including a set of knives.

Prosecuting, Francis McIntee said: 'She said against a background of arguments whilst she was collecting the knives he taunted her that he had slept with a woman. He said he had slept with her and had done so on a number of occasions including as recently as the past week.'
During this exchange Mr Saddique, it is claimed, goaded Willis to hit or stab him.

He was injured after he grabbed Willis' hand as she held one of the kitchen knives, and ended up stabbing. The wound almost severed his femoral artery completely and cut into the femoral vein.

Willis phoned emergency services and begged for help and an hour later Mr Saddique was pronounced dead at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Mr McIntee added: 'The prosecution do not allege that the defendant intended to kill Bilal Saddique - the evidence shows that the stabbing occurred in the heat of the moment.

'But the defendant lashed out with a kitchen knife intending to cause really serious harm. It was driven deep into Mr Saddique's thigh, we say in an act of anger.'

Willis called 999 and was heard screaming down the phone.

As paramedics arrived Willis told one: 'Help me my boyfriend is bleeding to death - we had an argument and he's been stabbed' and was seen to be 'extremely distressed, almost in a daze' with blood on her clothing and hands.

When she was arrested she told police: 'We had an argument, had a bit of a fight. I grabbed a knife and then he grabbed it off me then he grabbed it and stabbed himself.

I can't believe this has happened, all over a stupid argument.

If anything happens to him I will kill myself'.

Neighbour Paul Etherington a hospital operating theatre practitioner, said: 'I first noticed her on her phone, sort of hysterical, crying and shouting for help. I shouted 'what's happened' and then she said: 'help he's bleeding' and ran back into the house.

Mr McIntee added: 'She had adopted the Islamic religion when a schoolgirl and was clearly keen to comply with Muslim standards of dress and chose not to show her arms or legs.

But there had been culture difficulty in introducing the defendant to Mr Saddique's family and neither he or her had met their respective partner's parents.

Willis, of Blackburn, is accused of murder and an alternate charge of manslaughter. She has denied both allegations.

The trial continues.

Three 'under-age girls' fled hotel in underwear before police child sex raid

Three suspected under-age girls fled a hotel in their underwear shortly before police swooped in response to a child sex tip-off.
Police were called to The Birmingham Hotel in Small Heath, West Midlands, after staff reported fears that youngsters were in a room with adult men.
By the time police arrived they found a 17-year-old in the room, who claimed she had been assaulted.
A man was later arrested but no charges followed.
Yet police say CCTV camera footage showed three young girls earlier running away from the same room in their underwear.
Despite inquiries, they have never been traced.
The potential Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) incident took place in September.
Just a month earlier The Birmingham Hotel had alerted police after ejecting another 17-year-old girl who had turned up at the hotel with three Asian men, for what a court later ruled was likely to have been CSE-linked abuse.
Her case has now resulted in ten other Asian men being hit with injunctions, banning them from approaching young girls.
None of the ten were involved in the September incident, nor did they have any connection to The Birmingham Hotel.
The hotel has stressed it alerted police to both incidents and had been praised at court by a judge for its child protection procedures.
Meanwhile, Birmingham City Council has dropped possible injunction applications after agreeing a ‘protocol to protect children’ with the hotel.
The police swoop took place in September after a tip-off from a member of staff at the hotel.
“Police were called to a hotel on Golden Hillock Road at 9am on September 14, 2014,” a West Midlands Police spokeswoman told the Birmingham Mail.
“This followed a report from staff who had concerns that under-age girls were in a room with adult men. Officers attended and found a 17-year-old girl in a bedroom, who alleged she had been assaulted.
“Police examined CCTV footage from the hotel, which showed three other girls running from the room in their underwear. These girls, despite extensive enquiries in the community, with partners and other forces, have not been traced.
“One man was arrested for assault following the incident. However, following investigation no independent evidence could be found and the matter was filed pending fresh information.”
Earlier this month a High Court judge overturned a ban on naming The Birmingham Hotel after the case of the ten men, who were suspected of sexually exploiting a 17-year-old girl.
Mr Justice Keehan agreed to lift the restrictions but praised hotel staff who tipped off police after seeing the girl – who was banned from the hotel – leaving the premises with three men last August.
“I make it entirely clear that the hotel at all relevant times acted entirely appropriately and co-operated with the authorities,” he said.
However, the judge said it was “perfectly proper” to conclude that the girl was at the hotel “with these three Asian gentlemen for the purposes of child sexual exploitation”.
The Birmingham Mail asked West Midlands Police if officers had visited The Birmingham Hotel in the past in connection with enquiries about child sexual exploitation.
Keiley Gartland, the force’s Head of News, said: “We have tried to obtain the information you have requested, but this is not achievable in a press office search.
"On speaking to the LPU (Local Policing Unit) we have agreed that this would have to come in as an Freedom of Information request as it is not something that we can easily facilitate."
She later added: “West Midlands Police CAN provide accurate information as to how many times they have been called to the specific hotel in relation to concerns around Child Sexual Exploitation, however, this would require extensive manual checking of police-held information.
“This would necessitate searching police systems and this information is best requested via the force’s Freedom of Information unit, who will consider what information is held in relation to this request and, subject to exemptions under the act, may be released.”
The force failed to respond to the newspaper's further request that it ask its Public Protection Unit for the information.
The Birmingham Hotel had faced a possible injunction as part of the city council’s plans to tackle child sexual exploitation.
But the council dropped the injunction plans after working with the hotel to ‘’agree a protocol which the court indicated was an entirely proper approach to be taken. As a result it was not necessary to pursue the applications for injunctions and by agreement the proceedings were withdrawn.’’
Peter Hay, the council’s strategic director for people, also said The Birmingham Hotel had co-operated with officials and added: “We are pleased this has been removed as the sort of location people can use as a venue for the sexual exploitation of children.
“Hotels can often be the frontline of this issue so it is vital they work with us and understand the issues.
“We see this as a way forward and we are currently setting up training for other hotels. We are looking to them and others to work with us to tackle the problem of child sexual exploitation.
“The protocol is based on the Children’s Society’s ‘Say Something If You See Something’ campaign and includes agreement over training staff to recognise warning signs, the operation of CCTV on the premises, the provision of ID and clarification of relationships between adult guests and young visitors.’’
Meanwhile, West Midlands Police has also stated that it is determined to tackle child sexual exploitation, although the force has controversially refused to release pictures of the ten men named in court documents on public safety grounds.
Its statement added: “West Midlands Police is strongly committed to protecting children and young people from abuse and sexual exploitation, and is working extensively with partners to raise awareness of the issue and also to actively stop those who target vulnerable people.
“A dedicated team of officers has been set up to specifically tackle child sexual exploitation and also investigate online CSE, as well as targeting organised gangs who target children for exploitation.
“In November 2014, a number of Birmingham men, subject to a probe into allegations of CSE, were handed injunctions banning them from contact with girls under the age of 18 in a groundbreaking move. The injunctions were part of a careful and considered policing investigation dealing with CSE.
“In January 2015 the High Court approved an agreement between Birmingham City Council and the Birmingham Hotel in Golden Hillock Road with an agreed protocol to protect children.’’
The statement also added future protocols would be based on the Children’s Society’s ‘Say Something if You See Something’ campaign.

What the hotel says

A spokesman for the hotel said they had been ‘exonerated’ at court and praised by the judge for its co-operation with the council and for alerting police to the two incidents.
“There is no evidence of any abuse of any young person taking place at out hotel during our ownership,” he said. “The evidence showed that and the council and court know that.
‘‘It was the hotel that initiated contact with the police on both of these occasions. These are the type of actions that Justice Keehan alluded to when he stated that at all relevant times the hotel had acted appropriately and co-operated with the authorities.
“These are actions of a responsible hotel. Crucially, both incidents happened before any court action was taken against.’’
He added the hotel had a 32-channel CCTV system in place since December 2011 which had "been an important crime prevention tool since then. The hotel had already been taking ID’s and challenging people entering the hotel."

How many more of these Muslim rape gangs have yet to be discovered? How many will it take for shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain to discard its willful ignorance and recognize why this is happening?

According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take “captives of the righthand”(Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says:“O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war”(33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general, as does this passage.“Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive, and they who turn away from ill speech, and they who are observant of zakah, and they who guard their private parts except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed”(Qur’an 23:1-6).

  • Jeremiah, 27, praised Said and Cherif Kouachi who killed 12 people
The brother of one of soldier Lee Rigby's murderers has praised the terrorists who killed 12 people at magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

Jeremiah Adebolajo is the brother of Michael Adebolajo, 28, who with Michael Adebowale killed 25-year-old Drummer Rigby with a meat cleaver in Woolwich in 2013.

Jeremiah, 27, a Muslim convert, praised Said and Cherif Kouachi, who killed 11 magazine staff and a police officer.

He wrote on Twitter: 'Funeral prayer for Kouachi brothers at Turkey after today's Friday prayer. 'Nationalistic' Turks know Islam better.'

He was referring to a service held on Friday at the Fatih mosque in Istanbul, after Said Kouachi was laid to rest secretly in the French city of Rheims on Thursday night.

Adebolajo, from West London and believed to be teaching English in Saudi Arabia, added: 'No words can express the love & respect I feel for all the Muslims across the world who have come out to protest the defaming of Muhammad.'

Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg suggested he might join the army if Britain invaded Israel. Adebolajo replied: 'I'd be the first to join. I think the whole Muslim world would join and the UK would find itself a major world power again.'

He also called himself 'brother of a mujahid [jihad warrior]'. He could not be contacted last night.

An illegal taxi driver has been jailed for 10 years for raping a young woman put in his cab by her friend who wanted to make sure she got home safely.

Abdel Baisar, 34, picked up his victim in the early hours of June 20 last year in Leicester Square, central London after she was on a night out with friends.

Baisar, who already had a conviction for taxi-touting, was driving in the area when he picked up the victim.

A well-meaning friend feared the 23-year-old was too drunk to make her own way home so put her into the back of Baisar's cab.

He drove the woman to her address in south east London and then attacked her.
The victim woke up to discover she had been raped.

Baisar was traced through a match on the National DNA database and arrested on July 16. He was charged the following day.

Baisar of Tulse Hill, south London pleaded not guilty to the offence but the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict.

He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment at Woolwich Crown Court after being found guilty of rape on January 19.
He must also sign the sex offenders register for life.

In the unlikely event he is ever granted a minicab licence again, the court ruled he must declare himself a convicted rapist to any single female fares.

Detective Constable Mark Azariah of the Metropolitan Police's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: 'I would like to praise the bravery of the victim in coming forward to the police in this distressing case and supporting the investigation.

'I would urge anyone to come forward to the police in such cases and work with us to convict these predatory males who target women when they are at their most vulnerable.

'I hope that the sentence handed down by the Judge goes some way in helping the victim recover from this ordeal.'

Once  again it would appear that ‘religion of peace’ members  have carried out another  incomprehensible random sex attack on a lone female. The victim was walking away from Tesco in Maldon, Essex when the two beasts struck. Dragging her into the bushes where they raped her.
Almost instinctively after only catching the headline, you just know that it is going to be vermin who are ‘described as Asian’ responsible for such vile acts. Its like the grooming gangs, a type of sex crime where Muslims are way over represented in the figures
YET ANOTHER RAPE JIHAD COMMITTED BY MUSLIM PERVERTS
A young woman has been raped after she was dragged into bushes by two men after walking through an underpass.
The victim, who is in her 20s, was walking away from a Tesco store in Maldon, Essex, last night when she was attacked.
Police said a man suspected of the rape was of Asian or Indian appearance and aged around 30.
He is described as 5ft 9ins to 5ft 10ins tall with stubble on his face. He was wearing a Superdry jacket with a green logo.
The second man was slightly taller and wore a black coat and a hooded top with the hood up.
DCI Simon Werrett, of Essex Police, appealed for witnesses to the rape, which took place between 5.45pm and 6.15pm.
He said: “Initial investigations have established the same men may have been seen acting suspiciously in the area earlier in the day.
“I need to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken to the men.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 5.30pm and 7pm who may have seen anything.”
Neighboring force, Suffolk Police is appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault on a woman in Newmarket, Suffolk, in the early hours of this morning.

‘Behead mosque raider’ post lands man in court

A FATHER-OF-TWO has admitted offering a £1,000 reward online for the BEHEADING of a man who burgled a Werneth mosque.

Mohammed Bashir (26), of Monmouth Street, Oldham, uploaded a CCTV image of a man stealing from the Jamia Masjid mosque offering £1,000 for someone to behead him.

Bashir was “smoking a spliff” with his friends, while discussing a robbery at the mosque where he is a member. When he got home he offered the reward on classified ad site Gumtree.

The reward - posted twice under the titles “Reward Beheading” and “Werneth Reward” was reported to police by another user.

Bashir pleaded guilty to sending a menacing message at Oldham Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Prosecutor Gareth Hughes said the post was removed after 15 minutes, and police then discovered who had posted it.

Bashir, who works for Morrisons, immediately admitted he had acted stupidly - shortly after making the post he tried to remove it, but by that time it had aleady been removed.

Naila Akhtar, defending Bashir, told the court her client had been through a tough time after losing a daughter last year. Bashir’s daughter Eliza tragically died after swallowing a battery.

Ms Akhtar said he wouldn’t have made the post if he hadn’t been under the influence of cannabis.

Magistrates adjourned the case for reports. Magistrate George White said: “In the current climate, it is a very serious matter — extremely serious and causes extreme distress.”

Bashir will be sentenced on February 24..

Government vows to outlaw horrific crime of female genital mutilation within a generation

A raft of new measures to combat the "brutal" crime have been unveiled today and ministers defended the failed prosecution of a doctor accused of carrying out the banned tradition in the UK.
At a meeting outlining the scale of the problem across the UK, Public Health Minister Jane Ellison said: “FGM devastates the lives of women and girls and we are committed to ending this brutal practice in one generation.
“I am immensely proud of this government’s legacy and continued work to end FGM.
"The measures announced today will help the NHS fulfil its duty to care for women who have had FGM, protect them and their daughters from further harm and prevent girls from being mutilated.”
FGM has been a criminal offence in the UK since 1985 while in 2003 it also became illegal for UK nationals or permanent UK residents to take their child abroad to have female genital mutilation.
Anyone found guilty of the offence faces a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
The first ever prosecution ended in a not guilty verdict earlier this week and concerns have been raised by medics that health care professionals are now fearful of treating FGM victims in case they are criminalised.
NHS doctor Dhanuson Dharmasena, 32, was acquitted of the act in less than half an hour and the CPS was heavily criticised for bringing the "ludicrous" charge.
Today at the Zero Tolerance to FGM summit in London, Crime Prevention Minister Lynne Featherstone told Express.co.uk that she hoped the case would raise awareness about the issue among the medical profession.
She said: "It's an acquittal but I think the shockwaves that went out through the medical profession when the arrest was announced will have had quite a salutary effect.
"What it says to me is that the royal medical colleges need to look at their training.
It's child abuse, it's against our laws, it has to end
Lynne Featherstone
"If the rationale around was 'I didn't know' or whatever, then perhaps there's something missing.
"My own view - not on this case because I can't comment - is that a gynaecologist should know what [FGM] looks like."
New guidelines on FGM were issued for nurses and midwives today following the trial while today £3.6million was pledged in funding to a number of initiatives.
The Royal College of Nursing updated its guidance and demanded the Government "ensure healthcare staff have comprehensive training  and support to help tackle the abuse".
There has still been no successful prosecution in England or Wales since the practice was outlawed 29 years ago.
Ms Featherstone said:  "If it was boys having half their penises cut off that should explain why this is a massive issue, It's the same thing.
"But because it's girls and because it's been practised for 4,000 years somehow that makes it okay. It does not. That's why it's massive.
"It's child abuse, it's against our laws, it has to end."
Ms Featherstone blasted the idea of FGM as a cultural norm.
She said: "That's just the worst excuse.
"It has gone on for 4,000 years but now Africa itself where this is most endemic has outlawed this in 25 countries.
"The African Union, the United Nations have banned it worldwide because as the world has moved on, patriarchal societies that have social norms that keep women at the bottom of the pile are beginning to change.
"There can be nothing more totemic in terms of violence against women than cutting off the clitoris and the labia."
She added: "We're trampling all over cultural eggshells now.
"But nevertheless this is a private and personal area. Anyone talking about those parts of their body is going to be sensitive.
"We have to give our front line workers the confidence, the information, the knowledge, the referral system, to actually address both suspicion and actual FGM."

Britain Puts Terrorists Back on the Streets...

Two Islamic extremists – one jailed TWICE for terror offences – are back on the streets after serving half their sentences.
Shah Jalal Hussain and Jahanagir Alom are out on licence despite a Tory pledge to end automatic early release for convicted terrorists.
Crimes the pair were involved in included plotting attacks and fundraising for terrorism.
Hussain, 32, has said he believes Downing Street is a “legitimate target” for suicide attacks and that he wished he had been a 9/11 bomber.
Alom was caught with two others who were plotting an attack on Wootton Bassett where dead soldiers were repatriated from Afghanistan.

When approached by the Sunday Mirror both men refused to say whether they had renounced their twisted beliefs. Hussain insisted: “I’ve done my time.”
Yet in 2013 Tory Justice Secretary Chris Grayling insisted terrorists should serve their jail terms.
He said: “It’s outrageous that offenders who commit some truly horrific crimes in this country are automatically released from prison halfway through their sentence, regardless of their behaviour, attitude and engagement in their own rehabilitation. We need to teach criminals a lesson.”

Last night Muslim Labour MP Khalid Mahmood slammed the early releases as making a mockery of the Tory terror crackdown.
He said: “By releasing these people early, they are not protecting the communities they are meant to serve. They are putting further apprehension in the community.”
Both men are back at their East London homes and understood to be monitored by the probation service, but appear to have little restriction on their movements.
Hussain was freed on December 5 after just 18 months of a three-year sentence for disseminating terrorist material and encouraging terrorism.
He ran a website showing video rants by hate clerics such as Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada.
In 2008, the fanatic, who has a wife and young child, was convicted of collecting money for terrorists in Iraq and got two years. He was freed early despite encouraging terror attacks abroad and making fundraising pleas during speeches at the Regent’s Park Mosque in London.
GettyA convoy of hearses containing the bodies of seven British soldiers killed in Afghanistan, passes through the village of Wootton Bassett, in Wiltshire
Target: Wootton Bassett, in Wiltshire
He bragged that he wanted to knife former President George Bush and said: “When I heard an aeroplane had been flown into the Pentagon, I wished I had been the pilot.”.
After his release Hussain, of Whitechapel, continued to appear in radical videos online and was arrested again in June 2013.
Alom, the second extremist released early, got four and a half years in April 2013 for preparing acts of terrorism. He had been on remand since his arrest shortly before the London 2012 Olympics. He and two others were caught plotting an attack on Wootton Bassett.
Police and the security services monitored Alom, 28, and his accomplices for months. Alom had travelled to and from Pakistan to try to get terrorist training.
This week he was back at home in Stratford. When approached he said: “I can’t say anything.” He insisted only his solicitor could answer questions for him, but refused to name him.
