HATE HURTS: As Hate Crime Awareness Week is marked nationally, victims of hate crime are being given extra support following the launch of new support services in Rotherham funded through the Safer Rotherham Partnership.
At a launch event, members from Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance (REMA), Speakup, The Rainbow Project and Cllr Emma Hoddinott joined the pledge to make a stand against hate crime.
The new support service includes dedicated drop-in surgeries for victims of hate crime, specially trained officers who will support individuals with their individual needs, as well as a "Whatsapp" reporting service, a simple and effective way for people to report crimes.
